Hello!
My name is Jamila Hawkins, and I am passionate about international education and language education. I first became interested in international education through a sister-city exchange program to Okayama, Japan through my high school. As an International Studies Major studying Japanese, I was able to study abroad in Japan during college.

After graduating college I started learning Mandarin, and began working with cultural exchange related organizations. Inspired by my work with those organizations, I decided to get my masters degree in International Education Management and Language Program Administration at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. While there, I was able to study abroad in Taiwan, and do an internship in Japan. I graduated in 2022, and currently work as a Student Services Specialist at Stanford University's Bing Overseas Studies Program, where I primarily support the faculty-led programs for undergraduate students.

Study abroad and language study were incredibly impactful for me personally and academically, and I am incredibly excited at the prospect of encouraging students to pursue the same impactful opportunities.
